There are ignition systems that use the points as the trigger, but
supply a much lower voltage/current signal to them.  The points still
suffer from any inaccuracies that were present before, and the
mechanical advance must be neutralized somehow.  There are also
optical sensor type conversion kits that I've seen at swap meets.  I
wonder if MSD makes an electronic dizzy with a tach drive.  Other
options are to get a faceplate and needle from another vette tach and
convert to electronic.  Or, I think someone said there's a device
available for speedometers that will convert an electrical speed
signal to mechanical output (I may be backwards here).  Wonder if that
will work for a tach drive.  Someone who's read the Jags That Run book
may have more info on this.
