DIS and DIST ref pulse

Generally the DIS to ECM/PCM signal is the same as a DRP, Distributor
Reference Pulse, active on the falling edge.

Engine starting is handled by the DIS module with out help form the ECM/PCM.
This is because of the very ling periods between DRP's.
