A longer insulator does result in a hotter plug because it lengthens the
distance between the hot plug tip and the cooler cylinder head. If the
insulator is shorter, the heat has a shorter distance to traverse in order
to disipate into the head.

Doesn't a longer insulator result in a hotter plug?
