There is no requirement for _anyone_ to answer any question
here.  Value everything that is posted.  "Read the archives"
can mean many more things than this narrow minded selfish
interpretation.  It can be everything from "I saw this on the
list a year back and don't remember the answer" to "I've no
time to answer this right now, but I did answer it a while back".

Yes, the archives are in a sorry state at the moment.
No, I don't have time to fix them.

Now I don't want to hear anything more about the archives
unless it's "I have some spare time and would like to
help fix them".
