The law is more strictly applied with cars.  Dealers have in the past
(Hopefully in the past) used bait and switch tactics and DA's will really
spank a dealer for doing it, so if they have a situation like yours, then
it costs them less to lose 8-9G's and sell the car and get on with life.
I bet the guy who did the ad either got fired or some serious counseling!
