Geez, just to end this <g>
Vega had an AL block, and cast iron head.
Easy to blow headgaskets, replace headgasket, and then blow the rings outta
them.  Was living in LA at the time, and saw many of them die.   On a *good*
hot evening driving from LA to Riverside, you could watch 2 start to smoke,
and wind up on the side of the road, on the way home.
  Some folks loved them.  Others hated them.
