Torque measurements

Is there any way to get a ballpark figure for the torque output of an
engine, based on logged data or Gtech data?  Vehicle weight can be gotten
easily enough, gear ratios are known, so would anything be calculate-able
with rate of speed change vs time, or Gtech "horsepower" readings?

Trying to understand torque converter needs of a 4.3L cammed & turbo'd
engine (Syclone).
