EGOR Pricing Announcement (Commercial)

Again my apologies for any dupes to people on more than one list.

I was sposed to do this day before yesterday, as a few of you know, but
I had an "unscheduled intermission". :) Sorry for the delay.

This is one of those rare "commercial announcements", so if you don't
want to read an EGOR advert, bail out NOW.

Up until now, we'd only been testing EGOR on ground passenger vehicles
and aircraft engines. Had an opportunity to tune a *TRACTOR*, so
couldn't pass that up; hence the hiatus. Discovered the guy had it
running pretty close to lean misfire at idle for some reason (complained
of poor idle), and under power, was barely at stoich. We were able to
richen up both his idle and re-jet him to get him some notable power
increase just going to around <13.5 at moderate load (it's NA).

So much for the fun stuff. Here's what we've decided to do with the
pricing for both the EGOR-module and EGOR-meter:

Introductory Prices:

EGOR Precision AFR Meter $379 (without sensor)
EGOR AFR Interface Module $219 "

Specs:
	AFR range: 10.6AFR to 18.4AFR (0.25V to 4.75V linear)
	AFR precision: 0.2AFR

Linear AFR signal output is available on both products, for datalogging
purposes.

The AFR range was chosen to cover the most important range of interest,
whilst giving a nice discrete quantizing of the display, down to 0.2AFR.
See:
	ftp://ftp.interstice.com/pub/garfield/EgorSIG/DropBox/
for pictures, whilst I work on getting our "vendor" web site
constructed.

The required Honda/NTK sensor (Honda part no. 36531-P07-003; approx $90+
from www.hparts.com), which MUST BE PURCHASED BY THE CLIENT (we will NOT
be supplying sensors, because we couldn't do so at anywhere near that
price point), when combined with the EGORmeter above, brings the cost of
precision handheld AFR sensing well below the $500 mark for the first
time ever. We expect/hope this will open up a new era of low cost
precision tuning for the everyday proformance enthusiast.

The EGORmodule will allow automotive experimenters to incorporate Wide
Band O2 sensing/feedback into their engine managers, allowing for VERY
affordable WOT Closed Loop AFR control, rivaling aftermarket ECUs with
WBO2 options costing nearly $3000. With a few discrete outboard parts
needed for calibration trim, plus an EGORmodule, plus the required
Honda/NTK sensor (not supplied; approx $90), that brings the cost of
WBO2 interface/support for an ECU to just slightly above the $300 mark,
also an industry first.

Both EGORmeters and EGORmodules incorporate full free-air calibration
capability, so you can adjust/recalibrate for sensor aging any time you
wish, a procedure that takes only seconds, as well as freely
swap/replace sensors without returning your EGOR or sensor to the
factory. Also included in both products is a complete range of
automotive transient protection, such as protection against:
	Load Dump
	Alternator Field Decay Transients
	Reverse Battery
	Double Battery
	Inductive Load Switching Transients

Industry standard automotive connectors and robust wiring
insulation/sheathing round out the features of EGOR.

Method of order placement will be outlined on the web page once it's
done. Our policy is that we do NOT accept orders and transfer funds
until we are confident we can ship within 2-3wks ARO (after receipt of
order). We expect this will mean in the introductory period, that we
will have to refuse orders on occasion, if we get seriously backlogged.
But as the famous quote from "Mythical Man-Month" said, "If you are made
to wait, it is only to serve you better". :)

Here's how it looks for the short-term outlook on availability. We're
building the second (larger) lot of EGORs now, but have a forced move
looming over our shop, which we expect might hit in another 6wks-2mos.
Until we get that second lot finished and have some inventory, we will
NOT be accepting further orders, so this Pricing Announcement is just to
whet your appetite and start you saving up your allowance. :)

We will be announcing when we're ready to accept orders, and it WILL be
completely on a first-come/first-served basis, determined by the order
in which funds arrive here at EGOR Technology. But DO NOT remit funds
until you are told in person that your order is ready to be taken.
