Dwell and Ballasts (Was multi Coils)

My RV is undergoing a conversion to 24 VDC using a surplus military truck
generator. Will be using 4 L105 golf cart batteries in series to provide both
running and house current.

Was thinking of "splitting" the voltage at the batteries to provide power to
the coil(s) but .......

Instead of using a 12v ballast resistor, could I use a different value and
drop straight of the 24 vdc main without much hassle? Or would this screw up
the ECU ( thimking GM hacked ).

GM is the cheapest candidate that gives O2, knock, EGR and electronic spark
control and be hackable. Would still feed ECU off of voltage split.

Planning on splitting most running loads to balance draw off batteries stack -
24 vdc feed - 12vdc "ground" for running lights etc.

House inverter runs off 24 vdc. Clue - check marine supply houses - same
parts as RV stores - much cheaper prices - people who own holes in the water
are far more price conscious than semi-retired pharts owning RV's.

Full time PC(s) power comes from former 1000 watt UPS with gel cell pack
replaced by direct connect to 12 Vdc split. AC when available - dc when not.

Engine is a Ford 292 Y-block. Manifold is an ancient E-bok dual quad with
super funky carb bolt pattern - courtesy of DW and Core. Upside down rams
horn FACTORY cast iron manifolds will feed TWO small Carb type turbos plumbed
directly into each carb hole.

Port injection - not flocking likely with intake ports stacked one above the
other instead of side by side. Thimking TBI instead of carb - direct into
turbo inlets just like the carbed Buick GN - thus the carb type turbos.

One hundred (100) gallons water and sixty gallons (60) propane available for
fangling and detontation control. Gas-o-crud is an option.
