Paddle Shifters - Electronic Trans Controller

whats inside that stand alone controller..is it similar to one of the later PCM's, i've only read some on the 68HC11 which I am lead to believe is a variant of the P4. Is the stand alone controller just a dressed up P6 or is it altogether a different OS and chip
