I haven't played with ignition yet, but I was planning on using an IGBT
like the OnSemi MGP20N40CL. It's designed for driving ignition coils,
so take a look at the datasheet. I haven't tried it yet, so I can't say
more. Maybe someone with some experience will share their knowledge.
