pains of a list user: a political essay

Hi List,
On my part, as of late I am extremely busy(good to finally catch up
the bills) and can't keep up with the list. Lot's of good people here, and
can be very helpful... Sometimes better to repost a question if it did not
get answered.... I'm guilty of hitting the delete key before reading.... I
get about 100 emails a day without the list. There's always askme.com
lot's of good people on there too...

(shaking fist and muttering cuss words)
I use the list very infrequently and have had little
success with it. My questions must be outside the
realm of the list's rigid mindset. Before the list
was thoughtfully relocated I used the archive feature
and was very captivated and never had to bother you
people with a single line. Maybe the list should
become a (take a few breaths and pop some barbituates)
yahoo group or similar, where archives would be
established, preserved and treated with dignity and
most important, be web searchable (read: up to date
and conveniently accessed without massive download
using a dreadfuly common low bandwith connection). I
know that this is a frequently discused and rage
provoking subject, hence my post. Traveling backwards
a little, I post questions that might seem a little
mundane, as I have yet to learn microcontroller
assembly language or something similar, I
considerately post these questions because I have a
lot of respect for some of the well established list
members and see them as a source of information that
is, for all intent, otherwise impossible to obtain.
Unfortunately, I find majority of users on these type
of lists (technical) to be routinely unreceptive and
bitter.  Maybe this is a generalization on my part;
more time is spent flaming posts than writing helpful
replies. I don't think that all of this petty
behavior can be explained as guarding intellectual
property or keeping the list foccused. My suggestion
to yahoo-ize the list might sound like heresey to some
but it would certainly move information much more
effectively and expose the list a little more (which
is certainly against the backwards anti-agenda of the
list).

ALB

P.S. I don't read the list much anymore or post at
all. Just putting my two cents in. Don't take me too
seriously. This is just a commical asside in response
to some of the posts and domineering (rude) attitudes
that I've encountered. I would like to thank a few
people for actually being extremely helpful and
accessible. I would love to get a few replies.
