Absolutely, but like any tool, you need to know how to use it.  A
lot of people think that you are getting real AFR data from those
gauges because the manufacturer printed "10:1" and "19:1" on the
face, but this is strictly not the case.  Use it properly though,
and you have a valuable tool for getting in the ball park much
more quickly than you could otherwise.

Assuming you don't have a real AFR meter, you can use the EGO
blinkers to get rough mixture settings, then use the tried-and-true
spark plug readings to fine tune.  Even if you use a dyno for
fine tuning, it still saves time (and money) if you get most
settings "close" before the session starts.
