 you can also open the reg up and pop the pin that preloads the spring out. then tap the hole for a bolt and shazam no more shims.

Take the existing ones out and go to a hardware store and find the same or
desired thickness ones.Sorry it took me so long to get back to you-in the
process of moving.

 You can also pull these shims(washers) from a salvage yard off other cis
