You might want to look at
        http://bernd.felsche.org/tech/EFI/vapour/DDL.html
which is where I've documented most of the technical stuff discussed
on the list and elsewhere regarding direct-"digital" driving of a
typical wide-band O2 sensor.

The object is to have a simple box that would provide a data stream
with appropriate lambda (AFR depends on the fuel used; lambda is the
ratio of actual over stoich. AFR), and to exploit the recognized
advantages of having a micro-controller close-coupled with the
sensor. Once completed, the whole thing is to be an _open_ project
with documentation, firmware, schematics, sample board layout, etc
freely distributable to encourage experimentation and promotion of
the state of the art.

The page is being revised for a number of reasons, one being that
the project has been idle for about 2 months now with my other
commitments not giving me much chance to make headway before April,
and the content is a little out of date wrt the latest pump circuit
design and the reference materials.

I hope you'll find the information useful. If you do, then please
let us know on the list.
