Hello All:
Thanks for the info JJ. The site you pointed me to is informative,
but I am looking for something a little more in depth. Let me explain a
bit more.
I obtained a spare SBEC from a wrecking yard and proceeded to open it
up. As far as I can tell, from referencing both Motorola's mcu website,
and looking through the data books, the microcontroller is most likely
an E9 series piece with an on chip mask rom.
I removed and socketed the prom in the controller, and read the code out
of it as well. The problem I have with the Chrysler setup is that within
the prom code, there do not seem to be any tables for spark or fuel,
like in some GM proms I have looked at. I am thinking that the Chrysler
setup calculates the engine's mass air intake, and arrives at an
instantaneous injector pulse width value, and not by using a lookup
table or map as the GM controllers seem to do. Is this correct or am I
missing something here? Also does anyone on the list have some code that
I can blow into a prom, to get the microcontroller to do a full address
dump out the sci serial port? The controller probably has some onboard
rom or otp code which I would like to have a look at. Has anyone had the
chance to do anything with one of these systems?
