Don't let Bruce dissuade you from the MSD. Although the MSD is an old design and has given a few people some trouble here and there, it is basically a good box that puts out a helluva wallop.  I dare say there are more of them in service than any other CDI on the market and their reputuation is pretty solid.

What would you recommend, than? I was going to go with a 6A BTM 
(boost retard) when I turbo my Olds. Would Crane or some other 
manufacturer be preferable. Anybody else make a boost retard unit? 
I'll research the web, of course, but I was hoping someone had 
experience/suggestions to make the job quicker.
