Aerochargers Now lag

I think we are at risk of falling into a semantics debate whilst
agreeing, as, at least over here, auto is still taken to mean epicyclic
gears and TC, manual means clutch pedal. Confusion then arises over
naming the myriad of modern systems coming out, some of which use
epicyclic gears, some of which use ECU controlled manual boxes and
various inbetween, such as the current maserati (aka ferrari) system
which uses 2 clutches for ultra fast shifts.

Maybe if I rephrased my original comment along the lines 'it would take
a much braver man than me to steer a car on the throttle with a stock
auto and stock TC' that might ring truer. At least my experience of the
4T-60 on the family car would suggest that subtlety of power control was
not the main goal of GM in that installation. The stock mazda manual on
my Westfield however does allow complete control of slip angle (at least
within the limits of my driving ability).

No one says an auto has to have a converter.
Clutchless would infer auto.
Never seen a clutch type manual with a paddle shifter (thou the British
Truck series may be the exception).
In general, you can do the same with a auto as a manual (and faster when
set
up right).
