What you're forgetting about is the much much higher
rate of heat transfer between metal and coolant over
that between coolant and air. I could probably dig
deep and get some exact figures, but ultimately
there's a point of diminshing returns, and a
break-even point. It's not quite the easy equation
you state it is above, I don't think.
