TPI recommendations?

Hi all,

I have a 1985 Suburban with a 350 V8 that I want to convert to TPI. The
engine in the truck right now used to be a TBI motor, but I've added a
carburetor manifold to it for the time being. I am trying to decide which
of the two TPI types would be best for this application. I want to run it
for a while with the 350, probably with a set of Vortec heads and the
Scoggin-Dickey TPI baseplate, then I will be changing engines to a 406 that
I am going to be building. I'm an electronics technician by trade, so chip
programming doesn't really scare me that much. I'd like to know what my
best chance of success with TPI would be, speed density, or mass air? The
truck is 4X4, so I'm not looking for maximum high RPM, and I'm aware of the
stock limitation of ~5000 RPM - something that this vehicle will probably
never see. My main interest is low-end torque, and driveability /
efficiency compared to the carb. Any suggestions or advice?
