You're reading into those pages an awful lot. All the electrical arms of
auto OEMs have sites like the one above, where their latestNgreatest
techno is put on display. Delphi's is another example where you can see
lots of stuff you cannot buy, and many of which are not even made
outside their R&D facilities. It's NOT for the purpose of selling parts,
nor do pictures of parts mean that what you see is in any production
vehicle (yet) hence no part nos. It's to attract outside clients to use
Mits, for example, as their electronics contractor. In short, it's a
marketing display, not a parts catalog.

BTW, the "digital output" is likely to include signal/sample data for an
ECU or DSP to chomp on. Simple in terms of interfacing to the ECU,
perhaps, but not necessarily implying some simple logic output. Some
parts of the ionization sense scenario can be enhanced considerably by
applying a repertoire of DSP functions. Saab for example used a VERY
fast 32-bit micro for it's day, from the getgo in early '90s. NO other
automotive ECU maker was using 32-bit at that time, let alone a fairly
fast one. They had NO other reason for needing such compute power,
except for doing DSP on the ionization signal. I think you can be sure
at least for futures, that sample data of the ionization signal WOULD be
made available to the ECU.

Gar
