I've used a special grease to prevent this corrosion in fleet vehicles used
in New England. It was called non oxidizing grease or something like that
(the true name is prolly in the DIY archives). The product was used by the
phone company to seal connections, and anything that it was put on would
last forever, despite seeing the worst conditions. We'd use acid brushes
to coat ring terminals, spade terminals, battery terminals, etc., after
they were connected. Good stuff, I'd love to find an equivalent.
