[Diy_efi] Spark Plug readings

I, too, see the shiny brown glaze on what was, when new, a flat white =
ceramic insulator. and there is some oil on the plugs. you do know that =
the presence of oil in the chamber artifically 'raises' the CR, right?

as far as 'bits of piston' on the plugs goes, I don't see it, except for =
a slight lump on one of the electrodes, but I can believe it was =
anti-seize.

I had a roommate one time with a 5.0, and he had problems with oil in #1 =
and #8, I don't remember for sure, but I believe he said he fixed it by =
replacing the intake gaskets.

Yes I know not all detonation is audible. The kinds that you are =
talking=20
about would be though. It's obvious now that you are seeing effects of =
the=20
camera flash. There was some anti-seeze on the plug and that =
accidentally=20
got on the electrode when removing it from the engine. The flash=20
accentuates the silver making it look like (to you anyways) that my =
engine=20
is falling apart. After wiping it off, the electrode was perfect.

>Not all detonation is audible.
>So you see only *extended* detonation as a problem?.
>If your not open to at least trying to understand the answers to the
>guestions you ask, why bother asking them?.
>Remind me, in the future not to waste the time and bandwidth to try and
>answer your posts.

Don't know why your responses are almost always accompanied by an =
attitude.
