Ok...
Im Mark W, just about to finish my Adv Diploma in Electronic Engineering
at TAFE in South Australia.
This will be my second attempt at a DIY ignition system.
My first attempt was thrown together quite quickly and had no prev
planning. It also used a Atmel AVR which got timing from the std points
but with the adv in the distrib locked out. It was a CDI system which was
controlled by the AVR.
It worked well... but reliability problems killed the project (kept
erasing its own internal EEPROM loosing the settings).

Basicly, its less i have to worry about.
The AVR (8535) is already short on speed and flash and not having to worry
about dwell control is a bonus.
+ as far as i can see, the MC3334 does a very good job of it.

Thanks,
 MWP
