IR Gas Analyser.

There's some info in the PDF file.  Basically it uses a wide band IR 
source, and optical filters in front of IR detectors.  The filters are 
tuned to the gasses of interest.  It sounds very simple, but I'm sure 
there's more to it than what's in the PDF file.
