RS232 IR Gas Analyser.

Maybe of interest to have a look at another UK company - Edinburg
Instruments and Edinburgh Sensors - http://www.edinst.com/es/index.htm
The company I work for had a close look at their CO,HC and CO2 IR
measurement modules a while back with a view to incorporating them into a
4-gas analyser... eventually we opted for a Horiba measurement bench
instead, but the ES modules were interesting all the same. Not sure about
pricing though..
Cheers
Rich

You could post that PDF in the incoming, at the diy-efi site.
If it already has an rs232 output then it must already do alot of the work
for you as far as sensor driving/reading and possibly interpolation. It
sounds like it would be very simple to make a uC powered display with it.
For $750 I am assuming that is for the sensor and rs232 interface, can you
purchase the sensor alone?
Also, since this would be in the exhause system what happens whn the windows
that the IR emitter and reciever get a coating of soot on them? or am I
missing something here ?
