Hi Perry,
what injector would you recommend for a turbocharged engine that needs about 600ml/min/cyl ?
I know of 0 280 150 363 (0 280 150 351), they are 655ml at 3bar, but very low impedance (0,7Ohm). I would prefer 2,5 Ohm or 12 Ohm injectors.
Best regards,
Bernd

There are 2 types: The older metal body fat injectors, and the newer plastic
body slender injectors. The 2 use different connectors.
The mechanism is virtually the same. The Ford injectors sold by FMS are the
fat body disc type injectors. The newer Ford production vehicles use the
plastic body bosch conventional disc injectors.
My research has turned up a couple of things: They have a finer mist pattern
than the pintle injectors, yet they also clog up easier. Common causes are
lumpy cams which allow reversion, the injector outlet gets sludgy. The pintle
style are very much self cleaning due to the physical movement.
The disc injectors have a lower offset, a faster response time due to lower mass.
Opinions range, but it's agreed that pintle, lucas rotating disc, and rochester
injectors are much better.
On additional note, the Ford injectors seem to not tolerate high heat soak. The
injectors seem to start locking up and going fat. The higher the fuel pressure,
the worse. Ethanol oxygenated fuel tends to exacerbate the problem (I surmise it's
becase the ethanol absorbs the abient moisture allowed into the storage tanks via
the vents, the moisture tends to hydrolock the injectors).
I would surmise that the better you can keep the heat away from the injectors, the
higher the duty cycle they're tolerate. The plastic ones are more recent and
I would believe a better design, as plastic will not act as a heat sink like aluminum.
