maybe Al with an intentionally oxidated surface.
(calibrated after oxidation). Depending on the oxid-surface it
can be hard, chemically stable, durable
(when exposed to flowing clean air) and pretty cheap at the same time.
Maybe there are far better materials for this purpose though.
Does anyone know what's it usually made of in practice?
