I haven't followed this issue up to now, but doesn't the EEC-IV
"automatically" clean the wire?  One of the "brand X" systems I used in the
past, as part of it's "maintenance" software, actually had a function that
once in a while would allow the wire to "get real hot" and burn off
contaminants..

Does the EEC do something similar?

I've seen posts in the past about cleaning a MAF sensor elements properly.
I have a Pr0-M which I've cleaned once according to these suggestions:
remove element holding sensor wires, carefully touch elements with Q-tip
soaked in rubbing alcohol, re-assemble.  I was concerned the whole time I
would destroy the sensor elements!

Rather than risk the physical damage of touching these seemingly sensitive
elements with anything, would it be more appropriate to use a spray solvent
and just let the stream of solvent wash away any oil or dirt on the sensor
elements?  I would have the MAF out of the car for this cleaning operation.

If an appropriate procedure, what spray solvent would be a good choice?
Brake cleaner with Tri-Clor will clean ANYTHING but it will also 'eat' a lot
of materials...  Would electrical contact cleaners from Radio Shack or
others be a good choice?
