Would not be possible neither with L-Jetronic :-)
At least with European ECU which were analogical.

I've heard some US version were digital, but I think
that was in fact about Bosch LE3 ECU. 


The 'economical' mode was used on some Lancia or Alfa 6cyl engines.

Currently some automotive brands pretend to work on such solutions.
But I don't know details.
