The ESC module is available for $73.99 from Napa. The part number is
ECHESC203
They show 2 knock sensors for the corvette. Mileage plus and Echlin.
The MPE number is MPE DKS209SB and the Echlin number is ECH DKS209. The
prices are $31.99 and $41.99 respectively.
So it seems for a little over 100 bucks in new parts you could have a
knock detection box for a V8.
BTW, the application is for an L98. That's an Al headed cast iron block
9:1 350 V8 with Al TPI manifold.
The Sensor is mounted just above the oil pan rail next to the starter in
a coolant jacket port.
I don't know the thread size, but Fords have block drains in these same locations,
as well as a 5/16 oil gallery port on the left side of the block.

Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety
deserve neither liberty or safety. Nor, are they likely to end up with either.
