[Diy_efi] Fuel Tank Modifications

That little VW surge tank is pretty slick. I really don't want a big supply
of fuel outside the actual tank, but that would probably be a decent
alternative. I'm also still considering the possibility of buying a new
tank and installing some sort of baffle in it, something similar to what
maybe a 1LE Camaro Z28 or maybe Corvette has. I just need to see if I can
find a detail of what that looks like. To do that, (and keeping with the
DIY theme) I was looking at an adhesive like the ultra-light aircraft guys
use:

Here it is in action:

Looks like it might work pretty well, even if you had to rivet the baffles
to the bottom of the tank, then glue/seal it down. I suspect that you could
even use some sort of stock baffle assembly, I think Ford Escorts or
Topaz/Tempos have some sort of labyrinth thing that sits in the bottom of
the tank that the return line feeds in to that could be used.
Still, from a plumbing standpoint, the little surge tank might be the
simplest, especially if the regulator bypass was plumbed in to keep it full.
That just wouldn't be the best from keeping a cool fuel supply going to the
engine. I'd like to eliminate the stock mechanical pump and not have a
low-pressure in-tank for simplicity, but that may not be avoidable.
