Hey all,

Just a few notes to give you a heads up on what is involved Eric. I assume the
4L80 is very similar to the 4L60 that I have played with. Some issues not
mentioned so far are:

1. The pressure control solenoid needs to be pwm controlled with a current
ranging from about 0.2A (high pressure, WOT) up to around 1A (low pressure,
cruising). If you don't run this solenoid, you will get some pretty violent
part throttle shifting. I suspect pwm duty is indexed form the tps, with some
correction for the oil temperature.

2. You will need to pwm control the tcc pressure control solenoid. Simply
switching the tcc apply solenoid won't engage the tcc unless the tcc pressure
control is seeing current as well

3. There is a 3-2 kickdown feel (i think) solenoid that should preferably be
run. I am not an expert on this solnoid, but from what I have seen the duty
increases on a 3-2 shift

4. I got best results using shift speed v tps tables for the shifts 1-2, 2-3
and 3-4. You should probably add a lot of hysteresis on the shift curves to
prevent hunting.

Just my
thoughts...Matt
