I posted this to GMECM last night but got no replies. As a matter of fact I have seen no list activity at all since re-joining it a while back. So I thought I'd try here as well for some help with my project. BTW my project is changing from MAF to MAP sensor system on my '86 Camaro. The question regards reading the bin file from what I believe is a 27C256 chip in a 1991 Camaro OEM eprom.

Any help would be appreciated...

Subject: Fw: [3] Problem Reading '730 BINs...

Just when I was getting a smug grin making real progress on the first stage of my 165-730 swap and ready to plug everything in this coming weekend to give it a test something slaps me back to humility. I can't read the bin from the prom. I am using the same PB10 I always used in the past hooked to the same computer that I had when I made my last read/edits. I have verified functionality by reading one of my '165 proms with success. They load and pass the Compare with Buffer. When I load the '730 eproms I have(to turn off VATS) they read in successfully but flunk the Compare. Both Device and Buffer Address are 117E. The Device Data and Buffer Data are different though with C0 and 40 respectively. I have tried every different brand that lists 27C256 for my Selected Device but no luck. Is it me doing something obviously wrong?

Mike
