[Diy_efi] Chip TuneUp

Hi,
     I have a 1987 V8 5.7L Truck 1500 that I would like to tune by 
programming the chip.

Any one can give me hints on what to modify in the PROM ? Like VE Tables, 
Constants, ....
I have have installed all possible softeware like TunerCat and GMPCM and 
TunerPro...

I just need to start somewhere by giving more power to my engine.
Is this possible and how ?
