as a VERY general rule the return line should be 1 size smaller than the
feed line  i.e. 3/8" (10mm) feed use a 5/16" (8mm) return line I like to run
the return line next to the feed line when possible. If you are converting
from carb to efi you will probably need to fabricate a surge tank as most if
not all carb vehicles didn't have any baffling in the tank to keep the fuel
pump fed under all conditions, an aftermarket fuel cell may work or if you
have a common body style there may be a suitable donor tank available in the
bone yards. Enjoy your summer down there; it is a "balmy" 10 degrees
Fahrenheit here in New England.
