[Diy_efi] VW Surge Tank

Is this the little "deck of cards" sized part from the Rabbit/Sirocco (sp)
cars? Do you have a PN or picture of the thing? The one I've seen from a
link in a message late last year or early this year looked like it was
probably intended for use with a lift pump, but maybe the Ford pump could
draw through it OK. As the filter clogs, though, it will be harder and
harder for the pressure pump to do it's job. If you change it out
frequently (12K miles), it might just be OK.

Subject: [Diy_efi] VW Surge Tank

Hi list,
I just ordered up a VW surge tank from the local dealer. To my suprise, one
was already in stock. It was listed as "FUEL FILTER." It got me thinking,
that if I'm running at MPFI pressure, could I be able to use this tank AS my
fuel filter?
Is there anything bad about having an inline Ford fuel pump _suck_ through
the fuel filter?
Does anyone know how to actually plumb this sucker?
And if it's a fuel filter, could I have spent less than $40 by getting one
from Autozone? :)
Chris
