volvo, audi, VW, and BMW all had remote idle valves from early 80s to mid
90s. some were 2 wire duty cycled, others were 3 wire (B+ in middle, with
ground % on either side toalling 100%). Early 80s BMW 4 cyl used a seperate
idle speed controlbox, fairly small (1.3x3.5x4" or so) with about 12 pins,
some of which watched AC on, coolant temp, idle swx etc, to do all idle
control functions. this was used on either 320i, 318i(E30chassis), or
