[Diy_efi] Fuel pump run time with key on

How about this really simple approach, run a lead from the starter solenoid
to the fuel pump through a diode, this will run the pump any time the engine
is cranking.

Since you are stuck on not fixing the problem hydraulically (correct
valve in pump), you could have a fuel pump switch in parallel with the
relay that would hold the pump on just before cranking. This way, you
switch on the pump, fire up the car, then turn off the switch. This
would give you the quick, easy start that your starter will thank you
for in the future.

I don't know about your particular ECU, but that is typically how it is
done -- key-on runs the fuel pump for a set amount of time and then
stops. If there is a variable somewhere that the ECU "looks up", then
it should be simple to increase the time period during which the pump
runs.

Doesn't the pump come back on during cranking and raise the rail
pressure again, though?
