Many English cars had single throat carbies around the 11/4 to 13/4 size.
Toss the main body and choke and
you have a throttle body. There must be hundreds of carbies in wrecking
yards that have corroded float chambers
and bodies that have become useless. There is no reason why 2BBL carbs cant
be used. Jap carbs tend to be dual throat, with different choke sizes,
forget them. The hardest part would be making the intake tubes/manifolds. 3
duals would be easier to set up than 6 singles. Tuned ram tubes into open
air or clean air box (like a triple Webber setup)
If you want to go V8, an Aust by the Name of Leo Geogehan (spelling??) drove
a 65 or 66 Mustang all over Europe, winning just about every race he
started. I don't know what was under the cover, but it had 8 ram tubes. Some
say that car out performed a Shelby GT350. Would the old 289 cope with EFI
as well?
Cold air and ram tubes must be the cheapest way to HP.
Just my thoughts.
