<BODY>
<DIV>This past weekend I found more oxygen. Leaks that is. I removed the drivers side exhaust manifold and I could see where all three mating surfaces were not mating completely. The manifold surfaces seemed to be somewhat dished toward the center and black carbon soot was present toward the bottom of the outer two and top and botton of the face for the inner two cylinder's ports. I also found that the ball coupling where the exhaust pipe mates to the manifold outlet was leaking for about a two inch span.</DIV>
<DIV>&nbsp;</DIV>
<DIV>I added gaskets between the manifold and head to seal the out of flat leak. I rotated the clamp collar for the ball coupling and added extra torque when tighening. Leak testing with some water on the joint did not reveal any&nbsp;noticable leakage past the coupling. A quick 15 minute test drive and scan revealed a small improvement. BLMs came down a little but nothing super significant. Idle is still BLM of 160 with Integrator of 135. My IAC plumbing to the manifolds is disconnected at the diverter and the disconnected tube is plugged with a rubber plug. I am running out of places to look for leaks but symptoms say there still is one.</DIV>
<DIV>&nbsp;</DIV>
<DIV>This week I am gonna send out my LT1 #24 injectors that ingorantly was able to plug up with contamination and have them cleaned by the service in CA that I know does an excellent job. After explaining my problem to the owner of the service he asked me to send a single&nbsp;Accel #24 injector with my LT1s and he would do a flow comparison as part of the after cleaning flow testing procedure. This might help me with my low speed BLM diagnostics.</DIV>

<DIV><SPAN class=713061517-03012005><FONT face=Arial color=#0000ff size=2>The other possibility is slight exhaust leak that shows up worse at idle.&nbsp; I really checked everything over though, and can't find any leaks.&nbsp; Incidentally, a neat way to search for leaks is to attach a shop vac to the tailpipe and listen for hissing and/or spray soapy water on suspect areas.&nbsp; I found a leak that way, though it was downstream from the O2.&nbsp; Fixing it made no difference.</FONT></SPAN></DIV>

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Most of&nbsp;the griping&nbsp;I hear about Accel injectors is that they randomly stop working, or leak fuel into the intake.&nbsp; I can't remember any specifics, but searching a bit in the TPI and DIY-PROM sections at thirdgen.org will probably get you a few good complaints.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>The enable settings for BLM learn at idle are different from non-idle learn so it may just not be updating.&nbsp; If you reset the BLMs then you'll know it's updating when it changes from 128 (you'll have to pull the ECM fuse or disconnect the battery to clear the BLM info.)&nbsp; I'd try that before I spent more time troubleshooting.</FONT></DIV></BLOCKQUOTE></BODY>
