Thanks for that. useful to know what kind of sensor it is since Im 
planning on putting a USB data acquisition unit under the bonnet at some 
point (like, after I build it).

Since I dont have a spare milliammeter lying about I'll probably buy the 
one I saw online, although I'll shop about a bit first...

can probably turn up a T piece to allow me to fit the new sender along 
side the idiot light sender without any real trouble.
