It can't...

Sounds like this guy is trying to boost his business with a new "elixir".

Cyro is just another form of tempering...while it does have great benefits
it has to be done carefully and correctly. If you take the article's
description
of his methods verbatim then this guy is a hack. You simply cannot subject
a part to a bucket of LN2...the part must be brought down to temperature
very slowly (12-20hrs) and held (20+ hrs).

The results of the process are improved wear resistance, toughness,
dimensional
stability, fatigue resistance and a denser microstructure. The original
hardness does
not change to what many people believe unless the part was heat treated
poorly.

Any materials experts want to weigh in on this?  Maybe it increases
durability but how could it affect mileage?
