Right on the money, MAP or throttle position would cause that too (dependant
on value). The parking-lot test is to unplug hte map from the computer and
see what happens to the engine conditions, however, your mileage may vary.
In my past experiences with 2.8/3.1 V6's, a bad MAP makes things worse than
the car running in 'guess-timate' mode [that is to say, with the MAP
unplugged and it guestimates load based on throttle position]
