Fw: [Diy_efi] OT - colortune - any opinion on this?

I bought the "professional" kit of 4, circa 1971. It was useful in tuning
twin Hitachi's (SU copy) on the 59 2.4 Jag, and several bikes. On a single
carb 6 cyl, useful for checking mixture spread between centre and end cyls.
Found better response if idle mixture set so 1 & 6 were blue, 3&4 on the
rich side. When this engine was adjusted by "ear" 1 & 6 would be lean.
Quite handy on bikes when setting idle mixture, but tricky due to the
placement of plugs. Usually have to take the tank off to see the colour.
Unfortunately, the heat range is high, so can't use them on a dyno. Also,
they were only short reach, so you can't use them for long or you may damage
the lower end of the thread.
Probably not much use these days with FI. No Idle screws to creep.
