The only problem with testing them by putting the car in gear is the car is running 1500 RMP and its just about impossible to hold the car with the brake. I did a test onthe ecm it gave me gode 22 the TPS and 33 the MAP. From my understanding these will also cause the same problem. It did also give me 12 for the ecm unit. I have talked to so many people about this CFI that its makeing my head spin the dealer looked at me like i had 3 heads.the problem with those guys all they are is parts changers not much real knowledge left anymore. I found one guy that has a CFI he says his runs great and not any problems like most people are telling me. Typically from what i understand the CFI is not much different from the TBI since its just two TBI's any way. Thanks for your help i do greatly appreciate it.

Manually or by powering them up? If they're not moving when plugged in, unplug one of them and measuer the AC voltage on the plug. That will tell you if the IAC is bad or the ECM. I'll have to check my schematics in the morning for the pinout. Basically, if the voltage changes when the car is put in gear (loaded) then the IAC is toast. If not, ECM. Ski

Bret Levandowski <skishop69 at yahoo.com> wrote: Very possible. Unfortunately, you need a special tool to command it in and out. It's been a while since I looked at a CF set up, but if you see the IAC pintle end where it contacts the seat inside the manifold/TB (the air passage) you could watch it and have someone put it in gear to see if it changes position. The only other option is to pull it, clean it, extend the pintle all the way by hand and re-install it. See what happens. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. Ski

Bret Levandowski <skishop69 at yahoo.com> wrote: From what I've been told, and I'm no expert on CFI, is that the system operation is the same as are the connections. I believe you will have to do some wire splicing to get all the connectors to their proper locations switching to TBI. Just change the intake and get a stock 5.7l TB unit and you're in business. Should you decide to stick with the CFI, check Evil Bay. There are always a ton of those things for sale. That was a GM engineering marvel that should have gone straight to ye olde recycling bin.
