Aha, AHA, double thanks.  Center (2 & 3) exhausts are doubled, 1 & 4 ex. are 
singles, while 1 & 2 intakes are siamesed, 3 & 4 intakes are also siamesed. 
Now I can follow the discussion better.

Actually, it's the opposite. Two intake ports and 3 exhaust ports. It would
have been simpler if it had been 3 intakes because port injection would have
been trivial then. But it was designed decades before EFI (at least common
modern EFI).
