At the moment the daughter board is just the HV power supply and the current mirrors - ie the signal aquisition part of things. Many folks out there in engineering space have used relatively low speed microcontrollers and PC's to do the actual signal reduction - I will start as they have and work my way up to the required processor - which may very well be a DSP.

VERY nice.  You going to use a DSP chip on the
daughterboard?  I understand that FFT is the best way
to get useful data from the signal...
