Was Chip carrier now sockets

Instead of lining RN and their distributors pockets why not just buy a 24 
pin (28 pin) machined contact socket and get rid of the chip carriers. The 
main reason why GM used them was to make it idiot proof for ham fisted 
mechanics to change the EPROM.

A good Augat socket is ~ $10, and only takes 1/2 hour to install.

Hi Guy's ,

	I have found a distributor that has stock on the carriers
in a broken lot,they are not cheap at over $5 for 100+ and
just under $5 for 250+. At that price I have no interest, but if
something else turns up I will keep the group informed.
