Frederic,

When I did this, I un-soldered the eprom from the carrier, then soldered
in a socket. This way I could read the eprom and be able to easily
replace
it.

I then had to modify the plastic carrier cover by removing a small
section
(the eprom sits higher). Then a small amount(!) of hammer work on the
cover
dimple. This worked out well...
